Estimated Times:The rate of biodegradation for different compostable packaging products is dependent upon the composition and thickness of the material andcomposting conditions.
Compostable packaging biodegrades faster in a compost facility than in a landfill. It’s a great resource to feed and replenish soil and support plants. It also prevents the release of methane gas into the atmosphere which may occur if green waste decomposes in a landfill.
